Since its foundation in 1956 United Nations Association of Russia has declared supporting the United Nations as its main goal. The UN was established to stabilise international relations and promote peace and security, but moreover, according to its Charter, UN undertakes efforts in such global issues as poverty reduction, promoting human rights, environmental protection and social development – disregarding race, sex and religion differences. The UN Association of Russia is here to face these challenged side by side with the United Nations Organization.
The Association builds its everyday activities on a base of international law requirements, given an obvious fact that every modern international relations construction is formed of a rule of law. Nowadays following these principles of international law implies respect and compliance with the human rights, profound understanding of which is the other guideline of the UNA-Russia.
